Pietermartizburg may not be a big city but this beautiful city is big on heritage. Its heritage legacy can be seen in its Victorian building dating back to the 17th Century.
I recently decided to take a drive around the city to take a few pictures but mainly to take a few shots of the Cotton Pub. The Cotton Pub is situated at the corner of Burger and Boshoff streets.
Above is the western side facing Chapel street.
Victorian building design is symbolic for its rich culture and art. i observed this on the palisade design of Standard Bank Church Street:

Pietermaritzburg is also known of its red brick building designs which is why it is known as: UMgungundlovu oNdonga ZiBomvu (loosely translate: Pietermaritzburg of Red Blood Walls). as burger street turns to join Chapel streed at the corner is this beautiful mansion which is directly opposite the KZN Department of Transport

I totally agree with you Andile,PMB has the most beautiful buildings that tell a story of times gone by...they show the timeline in terms of architecture ....taking you back to the times when ART was appreciated and people took time building;designing; moulding;writing and crafting ....absolutely beautiful and well captured.
